The SMSG
was formed in 1978 by a group of metro Detroiters interested in S
gauge model
railroading.
Our membership includes
modelers, collectors (AF,
hi-rail and scale), manufacturers
and distributors. In recent years
the membership
has ranged from 40 to 50 model railroaders,
coming from as
far away as Western Michigan, Northern Ohio and Ontario, Canada. Many of us trace
our roots back
to the toy trains and tinplate of 1940s through the 1960s, including
American Flyer,
Marx and Lionel. We don’t limit
ourselves or our members to any one facet of
the hobby. Members
work in scale, standard and narrow gauge, Hi Rail, American Flyer,
modules and a display layout.

SMSG Name Tags
The SMSG is offering name tags to each
member. The idea is to make us known to new acquaintances and
potential new members. The name tag is made of plastic with a pin on
the back to attach to your shirt or jacket.
All tags are powder blue
with white lettering and logo. Cost of the name tag is $5.00 per
member, with the club
paying approximately $7.00 from the treasury.
To order your SMSG name tag contact Sig Fleischmann @ (517) 546-7033
